Art has taken me to many exotic locations and resorts where I painted seascapes and portraits. I have also been an ice carver, sculptor in bronze and clay and freelance fabric designer.
I eventually moved away from realism toward abstract painting. That was the paradigm shift that caused me to look at the world with an eye for abstract compositions, which I recorded with the powerful macro lens of a camera.
Those images, when enlarged with advanced technology, revealed more detail and secret passages than I had originally seen. The camera became a powerful investigative eye that could chronicle a moment and capture a composition. New layers of information appear when the images are printed on large canvases.
It is my intention to celebrate the beauty of every day and the inherent truth of nature reflected powerfully in our surroundings.
